Truth or Drink is Truth or Dare with the dares removed and a much simpler escape route. You get asked something, and you either answer honestly or you drink instead.

It moves faster than Truth or Dare because nobody has to get up and do anything, and it is easier to run in a small flat where the dares would be awkward. Play responsibly — the whole game works with water and is genuinely just as good.

The rules

One person asks, one person answers. Answer honestly or drink. Then swap.

Three rules make it work rather than fall apart:

The asker has to be willing to answer their own question. This single rule prevents 90% of the ways this game goes wrong. If you would not answer it, do not ask it.

Drinking is a complete answer. No follow-up questions, no "come on", no guessing what the answer would have been. The pass has to be genuinely free or nobody takes a risk.

Nothing said gets brought up later. Agree this out loud before you start.

Keeping it a good night

Set the finish line before you start. "Ten questions each" ends well; "let us keep going" does not.

Sips, not shots. Two people playing this get through questions fast, and the drinking is meant to be the lesser option, not the exciting one.

The third section is for two people alone. Those questions in a group turn a party into an incident.
